Szymon Palczynski
I'm Szymon Palczynski, an automation software engineer based in the west of Ireland. Techsolid Automation is my company. I build software and AI agents to automate work that people currently do manually.
Most of my career has been spent programming PLCs, HMIs and robots, mainly for packaging machinery. I also know pharmaceutical and medical-device validation processes. That experience helps me understand the production and controls side of a software project.
Background
I have worked in automation since 2009. I started on paper converting lines in Poland, troubleshooting and modifying Siemens S7 control systems in production. I ran Techsolid as a sole trader from 2014, moved to Ireland in 2016 for a controls role in medical device manufacturing, and set up Techsolid Automation Limited in 2017.
Since then the work has been PLC, HMI and robot programming for machine builders and integrators, on Rockwell and Siemens platforms with ABB, Universal Robots, Epson and Mecademic robots. I have commissioned machines in Ireland, Italy, Germany, the United States, Mexico, Brazil and the Philippines.
What I'm building now
My own development work includes a browser-based PLC simulator, compiler and unit-test harness, and a working agent that generates PLC code and tests, runs them and fixes failures. Building these has deepened my experience in software development and agents that use tools to check their own work.
Agentic programming
I enjoy working with coding agents to develop software. I'm interested in how they can help turn an idea into a working implementation, and how to guide, review and test that work.
